Way before UKG was called UKG, a core group of DJs in Birmingham were playing that gritty, energetic U.S House vibe that sounded SO DIFFERENT to everything else you’d hear in most clubs around town. A very distinct scene emerged, of which I’d like to think I was at the forefront of.
In this interview, we talk to, without doubt, one of THE most consistent DJs on theUK House & Garage music scene for the last25 yrs+.
Joining Jeremy Sylvester will be Nigel Reece aka DJ Nar aka Nigel R. In the early to mid 90s, Nigel would take regular trips down to the underground scene in London, bringing back tales of the madness to us all each week but more importantly the TUNES! Eventually, he’d create a strong identity and club night of his own.
Here we remember it all.
