I used to enjoy spending hours messing around with images to create various logos and tape/CD covers through the years, but when I made the change to Mac I never got around to purchasing any software to enable me to do so.
I discovered a basic, yet very handy, tool for design work this week but more importantly it is FREE.
If you use Mac, give LiveQuartz a try. You do need a little bit of common sense to be able to work out how it functions, the layers etc, but it means I can now spend more hours on end designing unnecessary things like desktops, show logos and T-shirts. Well, I say unnecessary.. I’m never going to get a job as a designer but I do like the things I came up with.
Next week I will give you links to download your very own Andy Ward (who’d want one of those) and Vocal Booth desktop backgrounds.
There are also more garments to purchase from the Threads of the Booth store, click the T shirt to view.
If you get this in time, be sure to check out this week’s Vocal Booth live at 8pm GMT (Thu night,) where I will be going thru the racks and pulling out another 3 hours of vinyl. A simple solution to me not wanting to wade through the massive folder of promos I have this week !
Show link to follow Friday 8th April.
22nd Sep 24: The Vocal Booth Radio Show
2 hours of forgotten gems and the occasional piece of buried treasure from the vinyl archives.
