Just before the Vocal Booth I purchased a new camera. I took about 10 shots with it. It then never got used until I went to Switzerland last month, and I proceeded to drop it and break it. I was very angry. That camera is currently being repaired. As usual, as soon as I bought the last camera, two days later I saw an offer on a new, different camera on Amazon. Secretly I was glad the other one broke. Then by sheer coincidence the better camera appeared in a local store at the weekend and my lovely wife offered to buy it for me for Christmas. Touch ! Needless to say I didn’t wait until Xmas.
I just went to the beach to test out the new camera. It is ‘only’ a bridge camera, a lovely Nikon with a powerful 42x zoom but it reinforces the fact that I would love to take up photography as a serious hobby, and I will at some point.. learning little bits and pieces as I go. There is lots more to it than just pointing and shooting, although I do think I would capture some nice bits with the right camera and learning post production.
Here are some shots I took today.. just sharing to remind myself in the future. As you can see I was just fannying around but loved the massive zoom.. some of these photos are ok. None of them are treated (quite clearly !)
