What a difference a day makes !
If you heard my show on Thursday you would have heard me complaining about being in a shitty mood all week, mainly due to the cancellation of my gig in Glasgow this weekend (which by the way, the promoter is about to get blasted about very soon unless he fixes up !)
Yesterday, the line up for the Southport Weekender was announced and I wasn’t on it. That pissed me off even more. Not because I felt like I deserved to be on it or anything else… obviously it is one of the best parties on the planet so I just shared my unhappiness on my Facebook wall. It was nice to see a lot of people say how sad they were I wasn’t appearing and others assuring me I would be on it eventually.
I realised how lucky I really am in life, with everything I have going for me, so promptly called myself a ‘c*nt’ and told myself to fix up. Typical Gemini moment.
I later cooked a lovely dinner at home and watched a great documentary about Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton footballer who had a cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane earlier in the year and has since made a full recovery. Michelle and I were glad we watched it… it puts everything into perspective. It was a nice end to a shitty week, once I get a strop on I have to ride it out !
I woke up today in a better mood and started to go through my music ready for next Saturday’s party in Birmingham. That immediately put me on cloud 9, I cannot wait to share some of these tunes I have purposely been holding back on for a few weeks. If you haven’t got a ticket for the Vocal Booth Weekender Reunion, then you are missing out !
I then opened my inbox and saw a mail from Alex Lowes, the owner/promoter of the Southport Weekender, apologising for his error in not putting me on the line up, it was simply a design oversight and he assured me I would definitely be appearing. The day got better.
I then made a spur of the moment decision to enter a team into a 7-a-side football tournament at West Bromwich Albion’s ground next May and am now in the process of finding a squad of 10. Play football ? Any good ? Want to join me ? Drop me a line (click here) and I will add you to the shortlist of players. I’ll go in goal. I’m not bad as a keeper… look like a giraffe kicking a golf ball out field though. More details to follow on that event much later.
I have also just been asked to fill in for John Mateo tonight on Pressure, so if you are heading out or staying in, come join me on air for a bit of a lock in session, live in the mix from 8pm GMT.
That’s it, just wanted to document my mood swing to read back on in years to come to remember what a twat I am.
Respect for reading.
