I have seen this video shared on Facebook many times recently and finally got around to watching it.
I agree with the sentiment but I also feel that this backlash against being stuck inside the WWW is slightly unfair.
For as long as I remember, socializing has always been the thing that myself and my friends did. As times changed, so the way we socialized changed. People still go out as much but they communicate MORE with their friends than they used to. Surely this is promoted by the increase in social media ? The Vocal Booth Weekender quite possibly wouldn’t have grown to where it is today without the help and network building of Facebook? People are engaged, living together, parents now and life long friends because of social media.
Living in relative isolation as I do, I appreciate the contact that Facebook gives me and the cost-effective way of communicating via Whatsapp etc. I’m not one to talk on the phone, believe it or not, lol, so written word has always been the way I’ve liked to communicate.
