Just a quick blog really to document what an amazing night we had on Saturday as the Vocal Booth Weekender teamed up with Beatplayers at East Village.
After a late flight in on Saturday and a fleeting visit to see the Tempo Twins, I rolled up to the door of East Village to see madness. I had tried to warn people of how crazy things would be for anyone arriving late and I wasn’t lying… at 11.30pm it was nigh on impossible to gain entry to the front doors and some people never made it in until almost 1.30am !
I didn’t get to experience much, if any, of the fun upstairs as I had to more or less get on the decks downstairs not long after arriving. Sy Sez did a cracking job in warming up the packed basement area and I came on and enjoyed playing for 90 minutes, sharing some mainly older vinyl nuggets alongside one or two dubbier new tracks. I definitely feel it is time for me to put a new mix together for my podcast followers, I unearthed some really fantastic old joints that need releasing on the world!
After I finished, Neil Pierce of course ripped the place apart and then Sy Sez came back on for the final 30 mins or so. A great night was had by all.
Thanks to all the VB Family that came down and shared more great times with us. I had a relatively early night and enjoyed a relaxing day in my hotel all day Sunday, before heading into Brick Lane for a pint and curry for one. Saddo.
2 Mar 25. VB Radio Show with Andy Ward.
2 hours of forgotten gems from the vinyl archives. Back to the original format of unearthing lost treasures in all their forms.

We were really sory to have missed it, but seeing it was already closed doors by 1.30, we made the right decision not to venture down from Camden as it would have been too late already. Glad it all went well 😉
