It’s finally happened. I’ve found a way to share our Family stories for anyone that’s interested and believe me, there are some SERIOUS stories to tell.
I have been overwhelmed by the amount of people reaching out to me on Facebook and direct email in the last weeks after the untimely passing of my Dad aka Big Den. Even in these few days I have found myself going through a range of emotions that I know are going to be with me for a long time.
I didn’t get to see my Dad so often in recent times and I’m not one to talk a lot on the telephone, so the fact that he is no longer here hasn’t affected me anywhere near as much as it has my brothers who were with him every day. That said, it doesn’t make it any easier for me to deal with and as I mentioned on Facebook, I’ve never experienced a grief like it before.
Helping me cope has been the need to keep active. I have created a Facebook page in his memory and a website is now live where I plan to construct our Ward Family tree going back 6 generations. I have already heard from 2nd/3rd cousins I forget about and others I didn’t even know existed. This will be a great project for all involved and hopefully bring a Family back together that, probably like a lot of families, has become splintered over time.
Anyway, I will not be sharing any more personal stories on this music website again, so if you are one of the many people who have so kindly said they enjoy my writing, then why not head on over to The Life and Times of Big Den (click here) or join us on Facebook.
Much love to one and all. Thank you again for reaching out to me in these very ‘weird’ times. I thought I was a lot stronger than this.
