If you couldn’t care less for Vocal Booth Weekender, then there’s no need to read on. This will be of no interest to you at all xxx.
A few months ago I asked people in the VB Family Facebook Group if they’d love a new VBW documentary to be filmed.
The answer was an overwhelming YES.
Two days ago I had the brainwave to put this project to the public vote and started a kickstarter project.
This is not a request for money for charity, it’s not a begging letter. It’s simple. If you have any love for VB and want to help, then it would be truly appreciated. If not, then that’s also fine… although if the truth be told I really do need you to participate if you can afford it.
The way Kickstarter works is this; One sets up an amount you need to raise for whatever your project is and people pledge an amount from various ‘tiers’. I have given this a very short time frame to collect the money. There’s just 12 days left in fact.
If the total amount does not get met, then no one pays anything.
It’s bad timing, so close to the event, this I know. Being so impulsive I just had to at least try it. I have to find the right balance between getting the word to as many people as possible that may want to help and not badger people. If you are still reading this then I guess you are interested and I truly appreciate your help. If you want to share this for me… thanks also.
If you want to pledge any money but can’t afford it now or within the next couple of months but want to be part of the movie, then drop me an email. Obviously there is only the one chance at VB2016 to film you
This was all set up on Thursday night and as I write this, we have been pledged £483 of our £1900 total. That’s 10 people that have pledged so far. I hope there are a lot more people waiting to get paid that will help.
I have been told that people are having difficulty using their phones to pledge so maybe try a laptop/computer if that’s the case.
If you think you have already pledged but haven’t received any confirmation, then it didn’t work. Please try again. I don’t think you can pledge twice by mistake !
I’ve tried to make the pledge amounts as reasonable as possible, you definitely get your money’s worth so you are not just handing over money “willy nilly” (David Brent voice).
This is the company that will be doing the documentary. It’s going to be a full-length feature production at over 45 minutes long and physical DVDs will be sold for a higher price once finished.
It’s very exciting !
