On Fri 31st July and Saturday 1st August, I made another trip to one of my favourite countries, Estonia
I have some real good friends that I have made over the last 11 or so years of visiting, and it is a beautiful place to visit.
Club Prive plays host to some huge International artists, and it boasts “Big DJ, small club”. In the past I have had some of my best sets here, although this time around I didn’t feel the same connection with the crowd. There were a lot of new faces in the venue, some of which didn’t strike me as being as ‘underground’ as in previous visits. Still, myself, J.P & Chris Mill battled on regardless and gave the crowd what they wanted until the early hours.
Saturday saw my first trip to the island of Saaremaa, along with DJ Widesnki.
On the ferry over, I had no idea what to expect from the Festival, a weekend long set of events that have been running for some time. After a brief visit to the beach with DJ Ecstatic we proceeded to have “crazy fun” at the marina, acting like teenagers on a giant trampoline.
The Kuressaare Maritime Festival was in full swing by the time we arrived, with Pookie and his band “Lament” rocking the crowd with some classic 80’s covers.
As I stood in the crowd I looked around and wasn’t exactly sure how the people would react to a House set.. but to my delight they welcomed it with open arms.. if anything the music even brought a few clubbers in from outside of the tent, and we proceeded to have a good sing and dance together until a somewhat earlier finish for myself than usual, 2am.
I wasn’t complaining about the early finish when I had to wake up after a couple of hours sleep, ready for the 14 hour trip home !
