January is the start of the Dryathlon, Cancer Research UK’s push to raise funds. People stay off the alcohol for the whole month and raise as much money as possible. Here I share some words on why I decided to take part.

2012 was the year of great sporting achievement, unnatural disaster, joy and pain. This is my review of the last 12 months and what they meant to me and those close to me.
A few nips and tucks on my website bring it bang up to date. You can now take a look on any mobile device and see how much easier it is to use, like or comment on. I still have a bit of tinkering to do, let me know if you spot any issues.
The much-loved DJ Andy Ward App is now merged with the Vocal Booth Weekender App, containing the weekly radio show as well as all of the sets from the 2012 event, plus photos, videos, etc etc.
Saturday night in Birmingham was another truly amazing gathering of the finest people you could care to share a dance floor with. The Vocal Booth Family were in full effect as we celebrated with Uber at the Rainbow Courtyard.
I touched on this a few times in this week’s radio show and on Facebook earlier in the week. Now is the perfect time to start looking back on your year and getting it down in writing so you can take stock of the last twelve months.
A few shots I took down at the beach with my new camera. If nothing else, the sunshine should put a smile on your face.
3 and a half hours of predominantly new music I shared on Pressure Radio, filling in for John Mateo and escaping the carnage that is the X Factor final.
What a difference a day makes. In the space of 24 hours I have been confirmed as playing at the next Southport Weekender, put a team into a football tournament next May at the Hawthorns (take a read if you want to be in it) and lifted my spirits with some amazing music ahead of next Saturday’s party in Birmingham.
