I recently told the tale of my time down in Devon around the start of the Marco Polo era (check it here).
Below you will find a very rare recording of one of my sets from this time period. It was recorded in the lounge of the flat that Giddy and I rented whilst living down there for 3 months.
I’m not exactly sure if I threw most of mixes in the trash from then or I just never really recorded many. Whilst listening to it I am pleasantly surprised by the opening tracks and the way the set builds, as usual there are some points where I clearly am more interested in showing how good I am at keeping the beats in sync, rather than listening to the noise it creates ! The last two tracks particularly are real nice, if only they were played one at a time !!
Monday morning here and a very miserable day on the Costa Blanca, it’s been raining non stop and shows no sign of letting up, although as is usual, the sun could be blazing by the afternoon.
The tape I recorded reminds me of Giddy and pisses me off to think that this weekend he, along with many of my other friends, will be raving it up at the all new Southport Weekender at the Butlin’s site in Minehead. As if by sheer coincidence I watched a programme about Peter Andre last night that showed him performing in the main arena where the Powerhouse will be situated (I assume).. who knows, I may just give in and book a flight later in the week !!!??
Tomorrow I will present the Vocal Booth again for my Australian friends. At the moment this show appears to be more popular with people listening in from these sides of the world, but hopefully it will grow. If it doesn’t then I will be happy to leave it be and get back to sunning myself on the terrace all day as summer fully kicks in. The main Vocal Booth returns on Thursday and I will be bringing you some more goodness out of the Vaults with a recording of one of my Choice FM shows, with hilarious adverts and all !
